Movement & Mobility Rehabilitation

Range you cannot control is not much use. Mobility work here is about producing usable movement — hips that rotate, shoulders that get overhead, a spine that segments — and then loading it so your body keeps it.

What is mobility rehabilitation?

Mobility rehabilitation restores range of motion at a joint and builds the strength to control that range. It combines assessment, hands-on work and loaded movement, and is used for stiffness through the hips, shoulders and spine that limits training, work or daily activity.

What an appointment may involve

  1. 1

A movement screen covering the regions relevant to your goal.

  2. 2

Working out whether a restriction is joint, tissue or control related — the answer changes the plan.

  3. 3

Hands-on work to open up available range where that is the limiter.

  4. 4

Loaded drills in the new range, so the change gets kept rather than lost by Friday.

Stretching is not the whole answer

Plenty of people stretch daily and stay tight. That is usually because the limiter was never a short muscle in the first place — it was joint restriction, protective tension, or simply not having the strength to hold a position.

Working out which of those is in play is the difference between a mobility routine that changes something and one that fills ten minutes.

Range plus control

New range that is never loaded tends to disappear. The most reliable way to keep it is to spend time working at the new end range under some load.

That is why mobility work here always ends with something active, and why the take-home list is short enough to actually complete.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to change mobility?

Short-term range often changes within a session. Keeping it takes consistent work over weeks, because what holds the change is strength and habit rather than the treatment itself.

Is mobility work only for athletes?

No. Some of the most useful mobility work is for desk workers, tradespeople and older adults who want to keep getting on the floor with grandkids, reach overhead or get in and out of the car comfortably.

Do I need to be flexible to start?

No — that is generally the reason people book. Assessment starts from where you are and the plan is built from there.
