Exercise Rehabilitation in Currambine

Hands-on care can change how an area feels. Loading changes what it can do. Dr Corey's decade in CrossFit, strength and conditioning shows up most in this part of care — rehab that is actually programmed, progressed and matched to what you are trying to get back to.

What is exercise rehabilitation?

Exercise rehabilitation is a structured, progressive loading programme designed to rebuild strength, control and tolerance in an injured or deconditioned area. At Northern Beaches Chiropractic in Currambine it is built around your starting point and your goal, and progressed as capacity improves.

What an appointment may involve

  1. 1

Testing what the area can currently tolerate — range, strength and how it behaves under load.

  2. 2

A short programme, usually three to five movements, matched to your equipment and time.

  3. 3

Coaching on technique so the exercises do what they are meant to do.

  4. 4

Progression at review appointments based on how you responded, not on a fixed calendar.

Rest is not a rehab plan

Rest settles irritation. It does not rebuild capacity, which is why so many injuries feel fine until the moment you go back to the thing that caused them.

The way through is graded loading — starting at a level the tissue tolerates today and increasing it as tolerance improves. That is unglamorous, and it is the part that changes outcomes.

Programmed for your actual life

A rehab plan you will not do is worth nothing. Programmes are built for the equipment you have, the time you will realistically give it, and the sport or job you are heading back to.

If you train at a gym, the rehab work gets folded into your existing sessions rather than bolted on. If you have twenty minutes at home a few nights a week, it is built to fit that.

A background in loading people properly

Dr Corey spent more than ten years in CrossFit, strength and conditioning before and alongside chiropractic, including time around AFL and elite sporting environments.

That means rehab progressions here are written by someone who has coached barbell work and return-to-play, not adapted from a generic handout.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a gym membership?

No. Plenty of effective rehab needs nothing but your body weight, a resistance band and a bit of floor space. If you already train, the work is written into what you are doing.

How long until I see progress?

Strength and tissue tolerance change over weeks, not days. Many people notice symptom change earlier than that, but the capacity gains that stop a problem recurring take consistent loading over a longer period.

Can I keep training while I rehab?

In most cases yes, with modifications. Stopping everything is rarely necessary and often slows things down. Dr Corey will work out what you can keep, what to scale and what to park for now.

Will I get a printed exercise sheet?

You will get a short, specific list — usually three to five movements with sets, reps and a cue for each. Small and done beats comprehensive and ignored.
